Airline Economics Names John Mowry as One of the ‘40 Under 40’

NEW YORK (October 1, 2018) — John Mowry, a founder of Alton Aviation Consultancy and one of its Managing Directors, has been named as one of the ’40 Under 40’ by Airline Economics. For the third year running, the publication has listed the leading 40 individuals, aged under 40, in the commercial aviation industry. The shortlist this year was triple the size of previous years, making John’s achievement all the more impressive.

Since 2017, John has worked closely with his colleagues to build a new aviation consulting platform that now has offices in New York, Hong Kong, Beijing, Dublin, and Tokyo. With 17 years of aviation industry experience behind him, he brings his clients deep domain expertise across a wide range of aviation matters.

A subject matter expert on aircraft leasing and financing, John has advised aircraft investors, lessors and operators on a wide array of aviation asset classes, including aircraft, engines, and inventories. Accredited as a Certified Appraiser by ISTAT, he has valued the comprehensive array of aviation assets owned and leased by the world’s largest airlines and lessors as well as the end-of-life leasing and aftermarket businesses.

Prior to the establishment of Alton Aviation Consultancy, John worked at SH&E and ICF, most recently as Global Managing Director of its aviation consulting practice. He began his career with General Electric, where he worked as a design engineer with GE Aviation and a business development analyst in the engine leasing division of GE Capital Aviation Services. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State.
